Best Road So Far

The last men standing left Hoi Ann on motorbikes after waiving the ladies off with “Easyriders”.

Straight into 10 km of beachfront road, lovely: 30 km of urban sprawl, a bit shit: 30 km of main road leading to a quarry that saw more lorries than we had seen over the past week, Then, turn right and the satnav said 144km to the next turn.  The road was brilliant, no straight over 200metres and twisty with unbelievable views of the jungle on either side.  Both David and Neil had moments when unexpected gravel intervened.  Only drawback was the lack of café ot snack stops.   But  what road.......

After that it was a short 60 kn of smooth winding tarmac into Hue for our night stop.

Toby's Tumblers ride had their fair share of thrills—and a couple of spills. It all started well enough, with everyone handling the twists and turns like pros, but then came Toby’s tumble. He hit a patch of gravel on a sharp bend, and the bike slid right out from under him. Fortunately, he wasn’t hurt, just a bit bruised (in both body and pride). After some roadside dusting off, he was back on the bike.

Just to make feel better, Terry followed suit tumbling, while stationery!

By the end of the day, we were all a little more cautious, but still stoked to keep pushing forward – someone tell Neil!

Now, the end of the day.  A couple of incidents:  Neil had a knackered wheel bearing and, after some "encouragement" he got it fixed for the princly sum of £7.  Not sure Brian would be as cheap!

Finally, Helen, buoyed by her frogs legs for dinner suddenly came over all "Riverdance".
